On December 17th 1875, Jules Louis Audemars opened a watchmaking workshop in Le Brassus in the Joux Valley, in Switzerland.

Piguet, a childhood friend of Audemars, decided to join forces to create and sell their own watches in 1881. The two men officially signed the contract launching their company “Audemars Piguet et Cie”.

The manufacture produces watches with an exceptional level of know-how, and the two watchmakers make « haute horlogerie » luxury watches.

It was in 1972 that Audemars Piguet proposed what would become the spearhead of the brand : the Royal Oak, brilliantly designed by the famous Gerald Genta.

An octagonal watch with visible screw-down bezel and integrated steel bracelet.

At this time, it had the effect of a bomb and quickly became a star in the eyes of the general public, a sport watch from a great watchmaking house.

The model presented here is a superb Royal Oak A series reference 5402 tropical, that means that the dial turned brown, an additional aesthetic aspect. The case measures 39 mm in diameter. Self-winding mechanical movement, calibre 2121.

This is a historical model that gives new life to the fabulous manufacture.

A unique and remarkable timepiece, sought-after and iconic watch.
