It was in Le Brassus that Jean Louis Audemars decided to open a watchmaking workshop on December 17th 1875 after completing an apprenticeship with his father.

When the number of orders exceeded expectations, Audemars called on a friend, Edouard August Piguet, who was also trained in watchmaking by his family.

From the very beginningt, the firm specialized in very high quality luxury complication watches.

At the 1972 Basel Fair, Audemars Piguet presented the “Royal Oak”, the first luxury sport watch. The particularity of this watch lies in the use of steel, but the watch stands out above all for its avant-garde design, a tonneau case with an octagonal bezel with visible screws.

This watch is designed by the brilliant Gerald Genta. He offers a timepiece that is radically different from the competition’s models.

The proposed model is a Royal Oak reference 25594ST from 2000. It is a stainless steel case of 36 mm diameter. Grey dial with day and month indication by counters, moon phase at 6, luminescent applied baton indexes. Self-winding mechanical movement.

All watch adjustments are made by means of the crown only. Additional blue dial. Proposed with its box, its revision invoice and its extract from the Audemars Piguet registers.

Here is an unusual watch that will take first place in your collection of remarkable watches.
