The Rolex Oyster Chronograph reference 6234 is often considered as the pioneer of the famous Daytona. Produced from 1955 to 1961, it offers many of the same characteristics as the Daytona. During its 6-year production cycle, Rolex produced approximately 2,300 stainless steel pieces.

Its silver-coloured dial has 3 registers, a 30-minute totalizer at 3, a 12-hour totalizer at 6, and permanent seconds at 9. Applied epis indexes with luminescent dots, luminescent leaf-shaped hands, telemeter and tachymeter scale, allowing simultaneous measurement of speed and distance.

It is a stainless steel round Oyster case of 36 mm diameter and anti-magnetic, it ensures at the time a water resistance to 200 m (660 ft).

Hand-wound mechanical movement Valjoux 72, with column-wheel chronograph mechanism.

The reference 6234 is a must for any Rolex collection, not only as a wonderful example of the history of the brand but as a vintage watch that could be worn.
