The GMT-Master is a real myth at Rolex, just like the Submariner and the Daytona.
Since its launch in 1955, the GMT-Master is distinguished by its 24-hour rotating bezel to know whether it is day or night, with an additional hand that goes around the dial in 24 hours. This watch enabled pilots of intercontinental flight routes, which were booming at that time, to read simultaneously the time in two time zones.
At first, the bezel insert was made of red and blue bakelite, in 1959 the disc was replaced by aluminium and epoxy.
The GMT-Master is very well received by the general public and many pilots and globetrotters have finally got a tool watch useful for their activities.
The proposed model is a “luxury” GMT-Master, reference 1675 from 1968. Rolex is one of the manufacturers that has proposed gold sports watches. It is a round case in 18k yellow gold with a diameter of 40 mm and a brown graduated 24-hour rotating bezel. Brown dial with luminescent round indexes, date window at 3. Mercedes hands and central second hand. Self-winding mechanical movement, chronometer certified.
