Hans Wilsdorf examines the problem of the waterproofness of his watches from the 1920s. He quickly proposes a model called "oyster", which, thanks to its crown and its screwed bottom allow him to obtain a real watertightness.
Mercedes Gleitze promotes it by crossing the English Channel in 1927 with a waterproof Rolex around the neck.
Then comes a real historical watch: the Submariner, the first 100m waterproof watch equipped with a 60 min graduated telescope to time diving or decompression times.
In 1967 appears the natural extension of the Submariner: Sea Dweller, thicker and more watertight than his big sister.
The Sea Dweller is the top of the professional dive watch.
She is adulated divers, who in the 60s use bells with a gas mixture based on helium. The Sea Dweller has a valve that lets out helium during the ascent.
The proposed model is 2017.
