VAN CLEEF & ARPELS YELLOW GOLD FULL SET

The history of Van Cleef & Arpels began in 1896, following the marriage of the Dutchman Van Cleef with the daughter of a great French gemstone dealer Salomon Arpels. The association of the two men really began in 1906 when they opened their first shop on the famous Place Vendôme in Paris. From 1909, nine branches were opened in France as well as in Nice, Deauville and Cannes. The first success came in the 1920/30’s, when the company decided to present watches on leather straps during the pocket watch era.

The model presented here is from around 1980. It was a superb Van Cleef & Arpels model well known to the firm. It is a 30 mm diameter, round yellow solid gold case with Vendôme attachments. White dial with painted Roman numerals. Hand-wound mechanical movement.

This meticulous model of this great luxury brand is very chic and elegant, very stylized, it stands out at first glance.
