At the age of 23, Louis Brandt opened a small workshop in La Chaux-de-Fonds, in the canton of Neuchâtel.

In 1879, his two sons became passionate and inspired by American-style manufacturing.

They finally settled in Biel, in the canton of Bern, which was logistically better located.

In 1929, the Great Depression has accelerated the merger process and a holding company was created to oversee the Omega and Tissot companies.

In 1957, this is the creation of the famous Speedmaster chronograph.

In 1965, after many complex tests, all of which were passed by the Speedmaster, Omega is chosen by NASA, which will become an integral part of the astronauts’ equipment.

In 1969, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin take their first step on the moon on July 21st, wearing a Speedmaster on their wrist.

The Omega Speedmaster model presented here is from 1969, model number 145.022. It is a stainless steel round case of 41 mm diameter with a screwed case back, black epoxy tachymetric scale on the bezel. Beautiful black dial with luminescent painted stick indexes. Chronograph has 3 registers with minute totalizer at 3, hour totalizer at 6 and permanent second hand at 9.
