In 1892, in the city of La Chaux-de-Fonds, the young industrialist created the watch factory "G. Leon Breitling SA Montbrillant Watch Factory" specializing in the chronograph. They would then bet on the right card.

In 1932, with his grandson Willy Breitling, the third generation is at the helm of the manufacture. In 1936, it launched a cockpit chronograph. In 1947, the Chronomat is produced with a circular slide rule. Finally came in 1957 the Navitimer.

The model proposed an unusual Navitimer as carried by astronaut Scott Carpenter, an astronaut who on May 24, 1962 commands the Aurora 7 Capsule (NASA's 60s program), thus becoming the second American in orbit.

A very particular model, with a wider and beaded bezel, two details that make it a watch apart, unique and incredible.

It is a round steel case 40 mm in diameter.

Black dial 24h that allows astronauts to know if it is day or night, having no solar reference is application is very useful.

Index painted Arabic numerals.

Luminescent skeleton hands.

mechanical movement with manual winding.

This rare watch is remarkable, its history is linked to the exploration of space.

A sensational piece that will find a collector of mythical and historical pieces.

The Navitimer is one of the jewels of the Breitling catalog, a 50th Anniversary model is out to honor the famous astronaut in 2012.
