In 1892, in the city of La Chaux-de-Fonds, the young industrialist created the watch factory "G. Leon Breitling SA Montbrillant Watch Factory" specializing in the chronograph. They would then bet on the right card.
In 1932, with his grandson Willy Breitling, the third generation is at the helm of the manufacture. In 1936, it launched a cockpit chronograph. In 1947, the Chronomat is produced with a circular slide rule. Finally came in 1957 the Navitimer.
The model proposed an unusual Navitimer as carried by astronaut Scott Carpenter, an astronaut who on May 24, 1962 commands the Aurora 7 Capsule (NASA's 60s program), thus becoming the second American in orbit.
