Since the 1920s, Rolex has been creating watch models that can withstand water under extreme conditions. The Submariner appears in 1953, it evolves to the rhythm of diving records.

In 1962, appears the reference 5513, the icon of the seas, professional divers adopt it unanimously, it responds to the growing demand with success.

The proposed model dates from 1982 and is therefore Mark V. It has a round steel Oyster case 40 mm in diameter, screwed crown and bottom, surmounted by a bi-directional black bezel graduated 60 min, to calculate the decompression times, on steel bracelet. A black dial lacquered with tritium luminescent indexes and Mercedes hands with a plexi glass, which gives it a particular aesthetic because convex.

The mechanical movement is self-winding, caliber 1520.

The 5513 is a myth, an elegant diver of perfect size, she embodies the sportiness with panache. The submariner is one of the most collectible watches, often copied but never equaled.
