The reference 16610 was launched in 1989. It replaces the essential 1680. The plexiglass glass is replaced by a sapphire one, more appropriate to ensure the diving distances that are getting deeper and deeper. The Queen of the Seas, the Submariner, appears in 1953, it is the first watch water resistant to 100 m vs 300 m for this modernized version. The Submariner is chosen by most professional divers or amateurs of nautical activities. These assets propel it to the first place.
The model presented here from 2002 has a round stainless steel case with a 40 mm diameter. A superb patinated bezel. A black dial with luminescent round circled indexes and date at 3 with cyclops magnifying glass. Luminescent Mercedes hands and central second hand. The 60-minute graduated black epoxy bezel provides divers with the essential and vital timing of their dive or decompression times. Self-winding mechanical movement, chronometer certified.
