A century and a half of watchmaking tradition at the service of the French navy, the Bureau des Longitudes observatory and the army’s geographical service. Since its origins in 1854, Auricoste has been intimately linked to French naval aviation. Its history gives it a special status in the watchmaking world, where beauty and rigor of mechanism are the watchwords. Auricoste continues to offer its performance and services to the largest military divisions in France and around the world. Emile Thomas, a renowned watchmaker specializing in marine chronometers, founded his own company, and in 1889 Joseph Auricoste gave his name to the company. For over 20 years, Auricoste and spirotechnics equipped the French Navy’s combat swimmers with diving watches.

The model on offer is an Auricoste Spirotechnique in perfect condition circa 1970. It features a 40mm steel tonneau case with screw-down crown and caseback. Black dial with luminescent painted round hour-markers, small detail of a diver design that characterizes the model, a perfect tool watch for professionals. Self-winding mechanical movement.
