At the end of World War I, the conviction that economic growth would soon return, prompted many people to found watchmaking firms in 1918.
Among them the Sylvan Kocher & cie SA in Grenchen. In 1922, the company was established in Selzach. One of Kocher’s trademarks is Eska which he patents. It represents the anagram of the initials of his first and last names. Under the signature Eska, Kocher manufactures a wide range of ladies’ and men’s wristwatches and bracelets, both manual and self-winding, calendar and chronograph models. The movements used mostly come from ebauches SA.
The model presented here is a beautiful and rare triple calendar chronograph wristwatch circa 1940. It is a stainless steel round case with rectangular pushers and snapped case back. Silver dial with three registers: minute totalizer at 3, hour totalizer at 6 and permanent second hand at 9. Days, months in windows at 12 and date by moon hand. Hand-wound mechanical movement with column-wheel chronograph system. With its original box.
This superb chronograph places the brand at the level of the greatest, a dressed, chic and elegant complication watch.
