In 1837, Thierry Hermès opened a horse bridle workshop in a backyard. The following decades were dedicated to horse riding and horse-drawn carriages. With the invention of the automobile in 1885, Hermès broadened its range to include luxury accessories, with watches added in 1927. These were made by Audemars Piguet, Haas Neveux, Lecoultre, Mido and Movado. To break away from its image as a simple “dial brand”, Hermès also created its own models: wristwatches, pocket watches and belt watches. In 1978, the family business inaugurated the Hermès watch factory in Bienne.
The model on offer is a beautiful and rare Hermès dressage “l’heure masquée” in a limited edition of 1,000, reference DR 5.810 from 2015. Steel tonneau case measuring 40.5 x 38.4 mm, sapphire caseback, silver dial with painted Roman numerals. Winding crown equipped with an ingenious system that reveals the hour hand and the second time zone in a window at 6 o’clock with a simple push. Manufactured automatic movement caliber H 1925.
This elegant, highly refined luxury watch is highly original and technically unique. It is sold with its original box and papers.
