The IWC “Ingénieur” (meaning Engineer) is not a classic watch, it is a timeless timepiece, both modern and complex.

Achieving a sleek design with three hands and a date is one of the most complicated things.

The “Ingénieur” was born in 1954 with the participation of the engineer Albert Pellaton, the new director of IWC in 1944.

One of the Ingénieur’s feature is the double soft iron bottom that eliminates the effects of magnetism, that is most useful for people working near powerful magnetic sources.

This model has a yellow gold (18k) round case. A superb white dial with indexes, luminescent dots and dauphine hands; but what make this piece truly exceptional is this dial with date at 3 o’clock. Self-winding movement.

A vintage timepiece to collect first.
