OMEGA SPEEDMASTER APOLLO 15 LIMITED EDITION 35TH ANNIVERSARY
Fine and rare limited edition manual-winding chronograph wristwatch with black dial. Limited to 1971 pieces.
In 1957, Omega launched the iconic chronograph under the reference CK2915.
A chronograph which would take part in all of the NASA’s impressive tests in 1960.
It was the Speedmaster which won by far the contract that linked it to the NASA and became part of the official equipment of the Astronauts.
The model that interests us is the Apollo 15, it celebrates the 35th anniversary of the 1971 mission. It is the fifth mission to send men to the Moon.
This mission is part of the Apollo program (1961-1975) developed by the NASA. Apollo 15 differs from previous missions thanks to a more powerful Saturn V launcher. The increased capacity notably allows the crew to stay longer on the Moon’s surface (67 hours).
The model presented here is from 2007.
It is a stainless steel round case of 42 mm diameter. With tachymetric scale on the bezel, gold pushers and crown. Black dial with 3 registers, minute totalizer at 3, hour totalizer at 6 and permanent second hand at 9. Stainless steel bracelet. Hand-wound mechanical movement.
Here is a wonderful historical chronograph, it is a limited edition of 1971 pieces.
A part of the space discovery. A useful timepiece for the Astronauts who wear it with pride.
A true vintage collector’s item to put in your collection of iconic watches.
