The Patek Philippe firm began in 1839 with the partnership of Antoine Norbert de Patek and François Czapek, but the two men didn’t get along. Czapek left the company to make way for Jean Adrien Philippe, a French watchmaker and inventor who won a medal for a crown-winding system that no longer required a key. The company was christened Patek Philippe & Cie in Geneva in 1851.

The model on offer is a superb Patek Philippe with annual calendar and chronograph from 2015. Round steel case, 40.5mm diameter, signed steel bracelet. Silver dial with baton hour markers, day-month-date apertures in the upper part of the dial. Chronograph with hour and minute totalizers concentrated in a single counter. Calibre 28-520 automatic movement.

This magnificent timepiece with complications is the result of the ancestral know-how of one of Switzerland’s leading watchmakers.
