In 1844, during an exhibition in Paris, Antoine Norbert de Patek heard about Jean Adrien Philippe, who got noticed because of an extremely flat pocket watch. This timepiece had the particularity of not having a winding key, the hands are adjusted using a single crown. Patek is fascinated and offers the watchmaker the opportunity to be his technical director.
In 1851 the company is renamed Patek Philippe & Co.
The Aquanaut was launched in 1997 in order to respond to a younger generation looking for a less classical model, more adapted to everyday life and above all more affordable.
