In 1874 Georges Piaget began making gousset watches in the family’s isolated farmhouse, and at the turn of the century his descendants Gerald and Valentin Piaget began developing and manufacturing their own movements, earning Piaget the title of Manufacture.
The first caliber to be manufactured personally by the Piagets was the hand-wound 9P in 1956, while the 12P launched in 1959 is still in production today.
Yves Georges Piaget, born in 1942, is President of Piaget, although he is no longer the owner of the company. In 1988, the Vendôme Group acquired sixty percent of the share capital, and since 1993 Piaget has been wholly owned by this luxury empire.
The Tank-shaped model in yellow gold features a tiger’s eye dial and gold dauphine hands.
This magnificent creation reflects the expertise of Piaget, a chic and elegant watch of the highest quality, a simple two-hand that successfully flies over the world of luxury watchmaking, a remarkable vintage to collect.
