Long before the famous Daytona came out, Rolex manufactured in the 1940’s fantastic Chronographs like the reference 4537.
A splendid stainless steel chronograph with a 36 mm diameter round case.
A dial in superb condition with three registers: minutes totalizer at 3, hours totalizer at 6 and the permanent second hand at 9.
Rare applied epis indexes with luminescent dots and black tachymeter scale (outermost) to calculate average speed times.
Telemeter scale (innermost) used in artillery to know the distance from enemy fire or to calculate the distance at which lightning strikes, in other words to evaluate the distance of a visual and sound event.
Rear dial (ref. 6234) signed anti-magnetic.
The case is an Oyster one with screw-down crown and case back.
Manual-winding mechanical movement, on the basis of the famous Valjoux 72 with column-wheel chrono system.
The bracelet is stainless steel Oyster riveted and elastic, very rare and original.
