If a brand was able of symbolizing luxury and watchmaking, Rolex would be that one, specializing in high-end watches. The Rolex adventure started under the name Wilsdorf & Davis in 1905, when the first one created with Alfred Davis a company specialized in the mechanisms of wristwatches, which quickly entered the product niche: robust, reliable, precise, with perfect aesthetics.
In 1910, Rolex was the first company to receive precision certification for a wristwatch. The saga continued in 1945 with the appearance of the Oyster perpetual Datejust model, the first watch to indicate the day of the month through a window located at 3.
The Datejust model presented here is the reference 16200 from 1993. It is a round stainless steel case of 36 mm diameter, an ideal size for a classic watch. Screwed crown and case back. Beautiful black dial with applied stick indexes and date at 3. Sapphire crystal with « Cyclops » magnifying glass. Self-winding mechanical movement, chronometer certified.
This watch, the precursor of a long career, has become historic with its own Rolex DNA.
An unshakeable pillar in the range of the brand.
