It is in Florida that the best car drivers battle and perform mythical races on the Daytona Beach track.

Sir Malcolm Campbell set a record of 482 Km/h (300 Mph) in 1935.

But it was in 1963 that Rolex launched its Cosmograph named after the famous car circuit, the Daytona.

This one remains mechanical with manual winding with the famous valjoux 72 until 1988, then the appearance of the reference 16520 equipped for the first time with an automatic chronograph caliber, the Zenith El Primero movement, modified by Rolex, without the date and modified from 36 000 vibrations per hour to 28 800.

This reference 16520 is extended until 2000. Then Rolex manufactures its own self-winding movement and it goes from caliber 4030 to 4130, under the reference 116520 until 2016.

The model presented here dates from 2005, it has a round stainless steel case of 40 mm in diameter. Screwed crown, pushers and case back. Tachymetric scale on the bezel, useful for pilots. A black dial with three counters with minutes totalizer at 3, hours totalizer at 9 and permanent second hand at 6. Luminescent indexes with stick hands. The movement is mechanical self-winding, chronometer-certified. The bracelet is Oyster stainless steel.

Here is a watch of the most mythical, the Grail for collectors and amateurs of iconic chronographs

The watch of all records, the Daytona glorified by Paul Newman in the 1960s is today the most coveted watch in the world.

It is proposed with its original box and papers.
