Since 1963, Rolex has been watchmaking its Daytona cosmograph, the one that will become the most emblematic chronograph of all time. It takes its name from the famous circuit in Florida, where the greatest car drivers compete against each other.

They obviously choose this famous Rolex model for reasons of precision and reliability. They integrate a tachymeter scale on the bezel to calculate their average speed during the races.

The famous actor Paul Newman glorifies the Daytona, he wears the model in the 1960s. It breaks the world auction record for the most expensive wristwatch in the world.

The model presented here is the reference 16520 of the P series, a collector’s item. It features the famous zenith calibre El Primero reworked by Rolex under the reference of calibre 4030. The El Primero is the first self-winding chronograph ever made.

The round stainless steel case measures 40 mm in diameter, with screwed crown, pushers and case back, making it water-resistant to 100 m (330 ft).

The black lacquered dial with tritium luminescent baton markers. It is a 3 counters with minutes totalizer at 3, hours totalizer at 6, and permanent second hand at 9.

This is the most mythical watch on the market, the most coveted chronograph.

This particular reference is rare and will have to join your iconic collector’s chronograph collection.

Model proposed with its original papers and Rolex box.
