ROLEX EXPLORER II REF. 16570
Beautiful stainless steel wristwatch. Round case. Screw-down crown and back. Steel bezel graduated over 24h. Black dial with date at 3 o’clock. Arrow hand for second time zone. Automatic movement, certified chronometer caliber 3185.
The story of the Rolex Explorer 2 begins in the early 1970s, a time when man pushed back the limits of exploration. Space, the depths of the ocean, the bowels of the earth. Society opened up to travel, the discovery of new horizons and the opportunity to practice new sports.
In 1970, man was pushing back the frontiers of the impossible, and it was against this backdrop that Rolex introduced a new watch model for adventurers in 1971: the Rolex Explorer 2.
The proposed model is a modern version of the Explorer 2 reference 16570 from 1997. It’s a round steel case, 40mm in diameter, with screw-down crown and caseback. Black dial with round luminescent hour-markers. Self-winding mechanical movement
Thanks to the arrow hand that circles the dial in 24 hours and the 24-hour bezel, this watch can tell you whether it’s day or night.
