ROLEX GMT MASTER TROPICAL REF. 6542
Fine and very rare stainless steel self winding pilot wristwatch with tropical dial and date.
The reference 6542 from Rolex is one of the most beautiful references of the GMT-Master.
This first reference was born in 1954. It is thanks to the PAN AM, first big customer of Rolex that the GMT-Master appeared.
It allows the pilots to read a second time zone, with an additional arrow hand and a 24-hour graduated bezel.
The proposed model of reference 6542 is from 1959, a very rare watch with superb aesthetics.
The round stainless steel case of 40 mm diameter is without crown-guards. Time passes and sometimes leaves indelible marks like this magnificent Tropical dial of the most beautiful effect, the colours of the bezel and the dial perfectly match. Luminescent Mercedes hands.
Date window at 3 and plexiglas glass with magnifying lens for a better reading. The movement is mechanical self-winding, chronometer certified.
A true legend, an ally for pilots.
It pleases the general public who adopt it with grace and emotion.
This unique vintage model is mainly made to be collected, but also perfect to wear in all circumstances.
