Very rare and fine stainless steel self-winding diver’s wristwatch with black gilt dial.
The first Submariner comes out in 1953. It is the first watch water resistant to 100 m (330 ft) with an optimal readability in underwater environment.
Equipped with a 60-minute graduated black bezel to calculate dive or decompression times, which is vital for divers.
In 1962 the famous reference 5513 appeared, a watch for professional divers.
The 5513 is very close to the Submariner James Bond model, it stands out thanks to its crown guards.
It is a 40 mm diameter stainless steel round case with screwed crown and case back. The model presented here has a black lacquered dial called “Gilt” with gold writing. Luminescent round indexes. Mercedes hands with a superb vanilla patina that perfectly fits with indexes. This 1964 model is in very good condition.
