The reference 6236/1 is launched in 1955, but already possessing many of the attributes of its successor: an extremely similar case although slightly thinner, the absence of crown guards, and the famous red triangle at the origin of the bezel’s graduations. The watch is equipped with the famous 1030 Butterfly caliber. This fabulous watch was nicknamed “James Bond” in the movies of the 1950/60’s.

The model presented here is the submariner reference 6536/1. It has a black lacquered 4-line dial with egg shell patinated hour-markers which is very sought-after by amateurs and collectors. It is a 37 mm diameter round stainless steel case with screwed crown and case back, which offers a very useful waterproofness to divers and professionals of the sea. Mercedes hands and central seconds hand. 60 mn graduated bezel to calculate dive and decompression times.

This Queen of the Seas dethrones the competition and marks the history of scuba diving.
