Maurice Ditisheim founded the Vulcain brand in 1858, a watchmaking counter that soon expanded worldwide while remaining a traditional, family-run business.
It quickly climbed the ranks of the profession, working from promise to promise to create watches with grand complications. One example is the 1890 “Larva Valley” pocket watch for the Chinese market, featuring minute repeater, grand and petite sonnerie and perpetual calendar functions. Highly advanced for its time, it rivaled the greatest watchmakers and won numerous prizes at watchmaking exhibitions.
In 1947, Vulcain made a turning point in its history with the first wristwatch with alarm function, the legendary Cricket. A highly fashionable watch for a demanding clientele. This emblematic Cricket is revisited to offer us exceptional timepieces like the model on offer.
