In 1848, at 23 years old, Louis Brandt opened a watchmaking comptoir in La Chaux-de-Fonds, in the canton of Neuchatel. His watches bear the Louis Brandt trademark.

In 1879, his two sons decide to start manufacturing in the American-style. Later, they moved to Biel in the canton of Bern, which was better logistically located. In January 1880, they launched their first caliber manufactured by mechanical processes, reliable and cheap, the product was a spectacular success. In 1894, the company manufactures the Omega 19-line calibre which will give its name to the company. The name is registered on March 10th, 1894, this product is a success, both technically and commercially. The company employs almost 800 people and produces 100,000 watches a year. It is already considered the most important Swiss watchmaking factory.

The model presented here is a rare and superb classic Omega around 1940. It is a majestic stainless steel round case with a 38 mm diameter, a XXL size at the time and for a classic watch, a detail which gives it value in addition to its aesthetic qualities. Silver dial with painted Arabic numeral markers. Baton hands and small second hand at 6. Manual-winding mechanical movement, caliber 30.
