Together with his brother-in-law Alfred Davis, Hans Wilsdorf founded the company “Wilsdorf & Compagnie” in London in 1905. From the very beginning the two individuals specialized in the luxury niche.
In 1910, Rolex asked the Official control and testing Institute to certify its movements in order to prove that wristwatches are reliable and precise.
In 1914, it was the turn of the Kew Royal Observatory in Great Britain, to issue a Class A certificate of precision to Rolex.
Until then, this certification had only been awarded to military chronometers, mainly used by the Navy.
The model presented here is a rare Oyster Date watch, the reference 6694 from 1984.
A historical model in the history of Rolex, the very basis of the classic Oyster.
It is a stainless steel round case of 34 mm diameter. Unusual dial with the United Arab Emirates coat-of-arms. Straight hands and central second hand. Date window at 3. Manual-winding mechanical movement.
Here is an unusual piece, a real vintage watch to collect.
This unique specimen is difficult to find, very sought after by collectors
This mechanical version with this jubilee bracelet and coat of arms remains a piece not to be missed.
