« The Tudor » was founded in 1926 by the house « Veuve de Philippe Huther », a watch maker and dealer, for Hans Wilsdorf. Ten years later, M Wilsdorf bought this Swiss watch factory.
Unique and iconic watches, manufactured in parallel with the Rolex production which took over its flagship models under the name Tudor, are more affordable and make an impression to the general public.
The Rolex Submariner is taken over by Tudor, and will be produced for the US Army from 1964 to 1966 and for the French Navy from 1970 to 1984.
It is a masterpiece in any collection of diving watches, an iconic timepiece that cannot be ignored.
The one proposed is the reference 7016/1 from 1968. It is a round stainless steel case of 40 mm diameter. A black epoxy bezel graduated 60 mn to calculate dive or decompression times. A superb black dial with painted square indexes, specific square hands, from which the “Snow Flake” got its name. A mechanical movement with automatic winding. Here is a superb model which takes an active part in the history of scuba diving.
An atypical pattern and unique Tudor that has its own design.
The Snow Flake is a milestone in the history of the world of divers, who use it professionally.
